Rhino Revolution, based in the Greater Kruger Area, South Africa, is tackling the poaching crisis with a unique, holistic, three step approach, through:

1) supporting anti-poaching measures, including dehorning wild rhino. This is not a long-term solution but is proving to be the most effective deterrent. Uniquely we also use retired racehorses for anti-poaching patrols and to monitor criminal activity, as the mounted guards can quickly and silently reach areas inaccessible to vehicles.
2) Rescue, rehabilitation and release of orphaned white rhino. Our aim is to raise the orphans to be released back into the wild as undomesticated, self-sustaining animals – and we have a very successful track record. To achieve our mission, minimal human interference is crucial, and the orphanage is run as a closed facility, not open to the public. In addition to caring for rhino, Rhino Revolution also provides a rescue and rehabilitation service for pangolins seized from poachers. Similarly, the objective is to release the pangolins back into the wild as soon as they are well enough.
3) education, inspiration - our aim is to inform and inspire the young people of the impoverished, local communities in the marginalised areas of the Greater Kruger area – as they are the conservationists of tomorrow.
