Conservation is about planning for the future, i.e. to bring a balance between human needs and available natural resources sustainably. The LCA will therefore use its influence to create awareness and to help bring a balance between human needs and natural resources in three ways:

- Focus on educating the youth, starting at early childhood development creating awareness and growing the knowledge of this sensitive balance, specifically amongst the urbanized youth.
- Promote conservation-lead socio-economic development by developing protected areas sustainably, which in turn will contribute positively to the livelihood of local communities.
- Actively bring about the protection of nature reserves in Africa, in support of the biodiversity management of selected national parks and reserves.
